Responsibility and independence is encouraged for all student-athletes to create these life skills for later life.
We offer a number of boarding options to Full Time Players during term time. Accommodation for Access Players and Groups is also offered subject to availability.
STA has two players’ houses excellently located for our players’ training requirements and lifestyle.
One house provides players who are 16 and over self-catered accommodation, the other is a host family supervised accommodation option for players aged 15 and younger (or players aged 16+ who would prefer to live with adult supervision). The supervision is provided by our Head 16+ Coach Nigel and his wife Louise, who heads up the STA Finance Team.

Sotogrande International School’s (SIS) Boarding House provides full board accommodation for our players. Rooms are often shared with other tennis players or school students depending on availability, and accommodation in this fantastically-equipped boarding house includes all meals, transport to and from the tennis club, and pastoral care.

At STA we are also very fortunate to be able to offer accommodation to our players through some amazing host families, both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking. Most families provide a single room to each player, but sometimes these rooms might need to be shared with other tennis players depending on availability.

We offer an unrivalled location amongst some of the finest golf courses, polo fields and padel tennis courts in the world. Based at El Octogono Club in Sotogrande, we are just minutes away from the beach and all the water sports there, as well as all the bars and restaurants in Sotogrande Marina.
STA is easily accessible from all over the world. We are one hour’s drive from Malaga airport and 25 minutes from Gibraltar airport. With 325 days of sunshine on average a year, time on our outdoor clay and hard courts is never an issue. We also offer several accommodation options within easy access to the club. Our most popular option is self-catering apartments in the Marina, which are just a few minutes’ walk from the courts.
Players participate in activities to widen their breadth of life experience in order to ‘Keep Options Open for Life’.
These opportunities range from learning to string your own rackets, to writing blogs for the website, to participating in nutrition workshops. Each player must complete a checklist of activities before ‘graduating’ from STA. Our programme is designed to provide student-athletes with the transferable skills to be successful in life.
